What I don't understand at all is how it isn't immediately obvious to everyone how creating good economic conditions is probably the best bet for reducing crime. If crime was some kind of innate facet of human nature that must constantly be kept at bay and castigated by the SHEEPDOGS
of society then why is my suburb, where at least 70+ percent of the population is college educated and nearly everyone makes 100k a year or more incredibly safe? I never see any police patrols, and I'm often awake late at night when then police are supposed to be keeping back the hordes. Still nothing.
Crime in the presence of other, safer opportunities for self actualization would appear incredibly unappealing to even the dumbest person. Why would you start slanging crack rock when there's a job up down at the factory that wouldn't end with you having a target on your back? It would only make sense to do such a thing when there are literally no other options available, or when the options provided are inadequate at meeting your needs
To quote from an interview in the hood I saw on Youtube,
>ain't no one wanna work at some bullshit ass job making 8 dollars an hour only to get jacked when you get off
