Vidya Nostalgia Anonymous Gamer 04/22/2020 (Wed) 01:35:02 No. 243
Just listened to a bunch of old Sonic soundtracks and felt pretty nostalgic. Thought we could have a thread to sperg out about nostalgia. What old games from your childhood do you feel nostalgic about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQhYFNqp4nE&t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZXGzki_qww
Can’t really think of anything besides holy fuck based OP posting the best video game menu song of all time. That’s why I love this site.

>>244 >the best video game menu song of all time Pssh, level up.
The first game I ever game was fortnite, it just feels like yesterday. Those used to be the days when people played games. Everyone just in one server. Back then cross play was so new.
>>245 >generic EDM soulless

>>248 Yeah, if you are going to do old school video game techno, then the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle series reigns supreme. Granted, it does not sound the same without all the thwacks, cracks, and digitized screams of pain that you get while actually playing the game, but it still gets a person into the mood to walk down the street and beat up thugs.
>>245 Does the song have to be specific to the video game, or does Soundgarden's "Outshined" count, since it was the menu music for Road Rash? https://youtu.be/jDfh0i6Drs0
>>243 Is that image from sonic mania?
>>252 tfw still fell like a brainlet because i couldn't get into fallout 1 or 2
>>253 You didn't miss anything, they're shitty games.
There aren't too many video games I feel nostalgia over, because I actually go back and play those old games regularly since they're still good and worth playing. Hard to build up nostalgia over something you play regularly. Megarace is practically the only one I can think of.
Donkey Kong Country 2 had the best music in the series. "Bramble Blast/Stickerbush sympathy:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73n7HTcmb5g "In A Snow-Bound Land" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No-DMGFnFuM
>>244 >the best video game menu song of all time You mean?
>>251 it's from a collection of wallpapers released on PC before the redesign was a thing, called "Sonic the Screensaver" https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_The_Screen_Saver/Gallery

Playing through Metroid Prime Trilogy, currently on 2. https://youtu.be/4YRLIgWnHlo?t=17 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuPJm2XQT0A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwjcq8Vwt24 KB+M support for console exclusive shootan games is a godsend.
>>3589 And totally unnecessary in a game like Metroid Prime.
>>3591 >And totally unnecessary So is KB+M on Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and everyone can agree it makes the games more fun.
>>3605 No, I'm afraid I can't. The games simply weren't designed for it.
